If you want "authentic" Po Folks, Soul Food while in Austin Texas, you have to visit Hoover's Cooking .There are currently three locations: Manor Road, Highway 183 at Anderson Mill and the historic Victory Grill in East Austin. Don't go there if you need a little snack! The food is delivered on brown paper bag paper and you get enough food to take leftovers with you! The owner, Hoover Alexander started out as a dishwasher at the Night Hawk restaurant in Austin. Night Hawk was the first dining place in Austin to integrate.
