Grown Folks Nation: Eric Roberson/D.Brown Photo Shoot

I had the privilege of hanging out one night with both D. Brown and Eric Roberson in Austin, Texas at D. Brown Studios. Both of these dudes are super talented and love what they do. When no production plan, I just turned on my camera to capture what ended up being a photo session for the album cover of Eric's upcoming album, Music Fan First. Check out the video and let me know what you think!!

Grown Folks Nation: My Family Reunion Was Awesome!!

Last weekend I went to my family reunion on my father's side of the family in Fayette Alabama. I have been going since I was 10 or so but never enjoyed it. In fact this was the first time I wanted to stay longer!

I finally figured out why I did not like it before. It is not for the young people!! It is to honor our elders. Many of them are no longer around. I especially enjoyed spending time with my 85 year old aunt. Her name is Ruth and she is a firecracker. We always met at her house for dinner and cards. Aunt Ruth always send you home with canned preserves. This year we stayed in a nice bed and breakfast called The Rose House.
It was a beautiful mansion on about 4 acres. It was built in 1898 by the Rose family. It had 7 rooms of which our family took up 3. In the morning the mother of the owner would come in and make a full breakfast (Not continental!!). She prepared fresh muffins, eggs, sausage, and some dishes I had never tasted. They were all good. It had all the charms of way back in the day. The one feature that sucked me in was they had high speed INTERNET!!! I was in heaven. The kids played football outside all day enjoying the oversized yard. We went to church and had our customary homemade breakfast at Cousin Bay Bay's house. I made sure that I documented older family members on video so we can show future generations instead of just telling them who this people were. You gotta love family!!!
