Grown Folks Nation: Football Is The Last Place A Boy Can Be A Boy
This is my second year coaching football. Even though it is a major time commitment, I am REALLY enjoying working with the boys. This year I work with Special Teams and making sure all the boys get playing time. It this level it is about building them up as young men. The best way to build up their confidence is to train them all week and then make sure they play. Football is one of the last places a young boy can really be a BOY. Can't be a boy at CHURCH - You have to be too quiet and sit still. You can't be a boy at SCHOOL - Boys learn better by doing and experimenting NOT reading and answering questions. You CAN'T be a boy at home especially if there is not father in the home to demonstrate. But FOOTBALL!! That's a different story!! They can learn, get physical, work as a team and show what hard work and dedication can result in. A "W"!!! Check out this practice during the off season
